Tadese Teko – Ethiopia
Incredibly fresh and citrusy coffee from the Halo Beriti washing station in the town of Worka in the Yirgacheffe region. The coffee is grown by Mr. Teko, who lives in the village of Shale. Coffee production supplements his other farming activities and helps ensure that his nine children can go to school.
Coffee from Ethiopia can usually be traced back to the washing station where the coffee is washed and processed, so it is unusual for an Ethiopian coffee to be traceable all the way back to the individual farm and coffee farmer. Due to its high quality, Mr. Teko's coffee has been specially selected and kept separate from the other coffees washed at the Halo Beriti station. The result in the cup is pure elegance with complex fruit notes that come through in all brewing methods.
The microclimate around Worka, where Mr. Tadese Teko grows his coffee, is characterized by cooler temperatures, a large amount of rain, and forest-like coffee farms, which provide the best conditions for his product.
