Arboleda de Berruecos – Colombia
Creamy and velvety smooth coffee from the Arboleda municipality in Nariño in western Colombia, right on the border with Ecuador. The coffee comes from around 10 farms in the Gran Galope program, which specifically supports small producers by purchasing in larger quantities. This guarantees a more stable and predictable income for farmers, who sell a larger portion of their production through direct agreements rather than the stock market.
Arboleda is a very mountainous area, whose special temperature regulation allows coffee to grow at up to 2,200 meters above sea level: the warm, humid air from the lowlands rises slowly up the mountain slopes during the day, which means that the coffee can get more heat than it would normally get at this altitude. The result is a coffee with notes of dark chocolate, plum, and a balanced acidity that stands out deliciously in espresso milk drinks, yet still incredibly versatile and suitable for all brewing methods.
